The Lovely Sarah - Senior Portraits in Camp Hill, PA
Sarah's just radiant. I photographed her senior portraits last week at her home which is a beautiful location. Look closely and you'll see a very unique feature of Sarah's. She has two different colored eyes. . .how incredibly interesting!

Gorgeous Haley! - Portraits in Camp Hill, PA
Haley is a natural beauty. She let me style her entire session which was completely fun. She has porcelain skin and amazingly blue eyes. It was really hard to choose images for the blog, but here are some from her session last weekend.

Abby & Brandon's Wedding in Gettysburg, PA - Mountain View Golf Course
If you live in Central PA, you know the weather has been a little strange lately. It's been hot, it's been cold, it's been rainy, and it's been windy. As Brian and I drove to Gettysburg for our most recent wedding, we watched the clouds roll in and the rain pelt our windshield. However, just as we were scheduled to begin photographing at the Lutheran Seminary in Gettysburg, the clouds cleared. Woohoo! The rain held off the rest of the day, and we ended up with absolutely gorgeous weather for Abby & Brandon's June 20th wedding in Gettysburg.
Abby and Brandon are an exquisite couple with hilarious and kind friends and family members who appear to have witnessed the relationship between these two blossom and bloom from its infancy all the way to the big marriage celebration. There were tears, there were laughs, there were hugs, and there were sighs. . . it truly was an amazing day, and Brian and I were thrilled to be a part of it.
Abby's girls made her a scrap book of their memories. . .the center of attention. . .why photographs of course! ;)

One of Abby's 3 brothers officated the ceremony, which was obviously very moving! ;)

Love the post ceremony shot by Brian!

We headed to The Mountain View Golf Course for a few more photographs and the reception. I had never been there before, but would love the chance to photograph there again.

The toasts had everyone in an uproar, but of course there were a few emotional moments as well.

Casual Family Portraits at the Beach - Cape May Photographs
What a fun evening I had photographing this extended family in Cape May, NJ. You might remember a few of this gorgeous crew from a previous session I did for them last month with their dogs Tucker and Trevor. Once they discovered we were all going to be in Cape May at the same time, they decided to book me for a fun and casual beach session. The session was not without its challenges due to a lot of wind and cooler temperatures, but I think the photographs depict the fun nature of this family.
Thanks so much for the great evening!

It was important to have this session before the grandparent's departed. I love that they were able to be included in the session!

Cute Cousins!

Cute Siblings!

Brian took the next two. . .and they are beautiful!

I love the next family photograph, this is classic! One kid is always trying to escape, but I love their expressions here! :) This is a great example of why I continue to shoot even after or if, things don't go quite as planned!

My awesome clients! I'll be in touch when your entire proof gallery is live!

CarisaK Photo Teasers!
The past week has been a blur! The busy summer months are officially here!
This is what the last week was like for us: Sunday night some family arrived from CA. Monday we drove to Cape May with two dogs. Monday evening I photographed an extended family session on the beach for a client. For the next 3 days, we experienced lots of cold & rainy beach weather. We tended to one sick doggie. Friday morning we made the drive back to PA. Brian and I drove to Gettysburg on Saturday for Abby & Brandon's wedding. We celebrated Brian's bday on Sunday after his soccer game. My sister is still here for another 2 days, so the official blog posts will arrive later.
For now, here is a teaser for you! Happy Summer Everyone!
Abby & Brandon's wedding was fabulous. I can't wait to share more photographs.
An 11 month old, a two year old, a three year old, and a six year old plus their parents and grandparents made for one fun & casual beach session in Cape May, NJ.

A quick photo of the 4 of us that Carla captured. We managed to get in a bit of beach time, despite the jackets and long pants weather!

Asia & Kimo - Dog Photography in PA
Meet Asia and her canine companion Kimo - two 8 year old Pit Bulls
Asia and Kimo were rescued from the Humane Society about 5 years ago. Their story is quite amazing if you ask me; but what's more amazing is the woman who adopted them both. Asia had been left to starve in a drug house in Harrisburg before she was brought to the shelter. Luckily, just before her time was up at the shelter, she was adopted by her current owner. However, instead of her owner walking out with one dog, she came home with two. It turns out that Asia and Kimo only needed a few minutes with one another at the Humane Society to become best buds. Kimo and Asia were kissing one another's faces after their brief introduction. So, although it wasn't the original plan, that is how Kimo also found a home that day.
Yes, Asia and Kimo are both pit bulls or maybe mixed bullies, and I know a lot of people give them a bad rap, but let me tell you about my experience with these true ambassadors for their breed. I spent most of the session wiping those famous and obviously persuasive kisses off my cheek from Kimo while Asia let me hug and snuggle her like she had known me her whole life.
Asia is sadly living with cancer. While nothing is certain right now, what is certain is that Natalie gave Asia and Kimo an unbelivable gift over the past 5 years. She gave them a second chance and many years they wouldn't have had if not for her. I hope that there are many memories still left to be made. I'm so thankful I had the chance to help capture some memories for you. Seeing Kimo and Asia frolic, share kissies, and snuggle was heart melting.
Dear Natalie, although the future is unpredictable, may these images of your canine companions bring you a lifetime of memories and happiness. It was truly a pleasure to have the opportunity to photograph all three of you. Thank you for sharing the story of how the three of you came to be a pack.
Asia loves to roll around in the sunny grass!

Kimo, the kisser!
